made his college decision Wednesday morning at Bethel High School in Hampton. The star defensive end decided to play football at Virginia Tech.
"I just chose Virginia Tech because basically it came down to Virginia and Virginia Tech," Ellis said. "They were identical not in style of play but in where I could be implemented and everything. It came down to a gut feeling and when I visited Blacksburg I just got a different feeling than when I visited Charlottesville or College Park or anywhere else."
How big of a factor was the Virginia Tech signing his friend Xavier Adibi?
"It wasn't a factor, really, yet it's a big part," Ellis said. "I want to play with championship guys and Adibi has already won a championship so he knows how to do it. I'm glad I'll get to play with him."
With the papers sent in to Virginia Tech, Ellis feels much relief that the recruiting process is over. "I can't explain to you how it feels," Ellis said. "It feels great. I can get back to a normal life pretty much. It's a stress reliever. I'm happy with my decision and there is no second guessing."
Bethel High School defensive end Chris Ellis made his commitment early Wednesday morning at a press conference at his school. In that press conference, Ellis committed to Virginia Tech. OBI spoke with Ellis shortly after his commitment.
