Virginia Beach standout Robert Brown from Tallwood High School has the tools to be a pretty good quarterback. The 6-foot-1, 173-pound Brown looked pretty good throwing the ball and I was also impressed with his mobility in the agility drills.
Robert Brown
is one of those kids who looks better and better every time I get to see him in person. The junior quarterback stood out at the Dre Bly Camp last week on the field and was also a very nice kid when talking to him and his twin brother Eric during some of the down time.
This was the second time I got to see Robert in person, the first was the Scout.com Baltimore combine. I like him as a quarterback much more now after getting to see him move around in some of the agility drills. I did not have a chance to see him move around much in Baltimore, I only saw him throwing, and after seeing a 5.39 second 40-yard dash for him that day I was interested to see how he was on his feet.
Brown looked good at the camp and he looked very comfortable. He has been working as hard on his footwork as he has on his arm and it shows. I think the slow 40-time does no justice for how agile and explosive Brown is. He also has a nice arm and while he does not have a cannon he makes good throws and shows some zip on his intermediate passes.
The fact that he is only a junior is a big plus and I think he is going to start getting a lot of attention from schools because of his play this season. Robert sat down with Scout.com after the camp to update on how things have been going. Check out his interview below.
