"Bisi" Impressed with Virginia
Ndubisi Ezekoye has been hitting the trail pretty hard lately, as he and his family are trying to ensure he makes the correct decision about which college to attend. Bisi, as he is called, is looking not only for a school where he can showcase his athletic prowess, but also a place where he can pursue his ultimate goal of being a lawyer.
Bisi says that he had always heard Virginia was a good school and recently told me, "I had always heard that Virginia was a pretty good school when it came to academics. It kind of shocked me because after my Dad and I did some research, I found out that it was a great school. That discovery made me more and more interested in Virginia. It's a top school and it is really close to home. Right now I do not have any sort of timetable for committing. I want to make sure I make the right decision for me and for my family. Not necessarily the best football situation, but also the best academic situation. I want to be a lawyer so I know it's going to be a lot of hard work. I want to make sure that I am at a place where I can prepare myself for my future."
After meeting Bisi in Baltimore at the Scout.com Combine I had a feeling that he was a special kid. After having a chance to meet with him again and getting to talk to him for an extended period of time following the Maryland Crab Bowl press conference, I knew for sure that he indeed was a very special kid. His GPA is nearly perfect, he is polite and extremely well spoken, and as (Maryland Crab Bowl Co-Founder) Chuck Harmon put it, "Bisi is the type of kid I want as the face of the Maryland Crab Bowl. I have even said to my son to look at a guy like Bisi and try to be like him. The kids a role model and I know whatever he chooses to do with his life he will find much success."
Bisi has had nothing but great things to say about everything Virginia.
"I went to Charlottesville with my Mom, my brother, and my older sister. The first thing everyone in the car said when we got to campus was ‘wow this place is beautiful', and that got my interest going from the time we pulled in. I was excited to see the school because they were one of the top schools I found when my Dad and I were researching my major. I am planning on double-majoring in Economics and Political Science, with a Finance minor as well. We came across Virginia and that automatically put them on my list. Overall, the campus was beautiful, the field and the facilities were extremely nice and taken care of. I was impressed with the locker room also, it shows that the team takes time to take care of its players and makes the little things top priority."
Bisi says that he does not yet have any sort of timetable for committing. He is going to take his time, takes his visits, and make a family decision about which school to attend.
"The entire recruiting process has been great for me. One thing I know for sure is that I want a school with good academics. When I went to Duke, I fell in love with the campus and the coaching staff. They have the kind of coaching staff who pushes you harder to become a better football player, and a better man. I went to Virginia for a Nike Camp, so I did not have a chance to have any contact with any of their coaches. I don't have a speciic date or anything planned as of yet, but I am going to get down to Virginia again."
Ezekoye lists (in no particular order) Virginia, Connecticut, Navy, Air Force, VMI, Duke, and Vanderbilt all as schools he will be taking a good look at before he commits.
