As an undrafted free agent last season Marquis Weeks obviously impressed the Seattle Seahawks although he spent most of the season on the practice roster. Weeks has reportedly signed a 2-year deal with the Seahawks after their Super Bowl appearance this past season. | |||

Jose Miguel Romero of the Seattle Times reports that running back/safety Marquis Weeks, an undrafted free agent out of Virginia who was signed out of college by the Seahawks in April of 2005, has been re-signed by the team. Terms were not disclosed, although the contract is reportedly two years in length. A converted running back in college, Weeks was pushed out of final cuts by the special teams ability of waiver-wire pickup Josh Scobey. He was named to the practice squad on September 5th. The 5-10, 216-pound Weeks was regarded by our own TFY draft Preview as follows: "Inexperienced but athletic defensive back with excellent size/speed numbers. Reads the signal caller, anticipates the action, and helps out cornerbacks. Displays good sideline-to-sideline range, fast to the flanks and possesses a burst of closing speed. Explosive up the field defending the run. Holds his ground against blocks. Fluid turning in transition to cover the pass." Weeks is listed on the Seahawks' current roster as a running back. |
