BLAIRSTOWN, N.J. -- Jabari Edwards would probably start at most high schools in the country, but the mobile 6-9 junior power forward plays sparingly for Dan Hurley's St. Benedict's Prep juggernaut. And that's not a negative reflection on Edwards, who transferred into St. Benedict's from Poly Prep High School in Brooklyn last fall. He has ability, but he'll need to work his way up the depth chart.
Edwards got a chance to showcase himself on Saturday at the Lehigh Valley Hoop Fest, scoring seven points, grabbing five rebounds and recording one block in the Gray Bees' 77-37 romp over Life Center Academy.
Hurley said that Vanderbilt, Virginia, and Stanford are among the programs courting Edwards as a junior. Just how serious those programs will get could depend on his development over the next six months into the critical July evaluation period.
