After meticulously narrowing down his list of schools over the past week, Billy Cuffee is finally left with just one school.
“About 20 minutes ago I made a commitment to the University of Virginia,” said Cuffee. “[The Virginia coaches] were very excited. They told me that I made a very good decision.”
Cuffee, a 6-foot-5 310-pound offensive tackle from Chesapeake (Va.) Deep Creek, took official visits to Virginia, N.C. State, Virginia Tech, East Carolina, and Maryland. His decision was greatly based on what he learned and felt during his official visit travels.
“[I liked] just the overall feel [of Virginia],” said Cuffee. “[The Cavaliers] have everything going for them – it’s a great degree, the football program is headed in the right place, and I felt comfortable there.”
Cuffee busted onto the recruiting scene late in the game as coaching staffs waited to see how he recovered from the fractured hip flexor he sustained as a junior. During his senior season, Cuffee proved he was 100% by anchoring an offensive line that helped lead Deep Creek to an 8-2 record.
