2006 UVa signee Jamil Tucker and his West Side (IN) team battled Wirt Friday night and the Cougars were able to come away with a 86-81 win. The celebration however will be short lived as the Cougars will have not one...but two games today.
On Friday the Cougars needed a big time performance from the future Cavalier as they withstood a barrage of 3 pointers from the scrappy Wirt bunch. Tucker however had his way most of the afternoon on his way to 30 points and 10 rebounds. When coach John Boyd's team need a bucket to turn back Wirt Tucker was usually the man responsible for putting the Cougars further ahead.
The Cougars' stamina and endurance will get tested as they are set to play at 3 PM today against Boys To Men HS and then will travel to face Chicago Crane HS at 7:30. Three games in two days is something not even the NBA does but we'll find out just how tough the Cougars are after the busy weekend.
HooNation.com will keep you up to date concerning Tucker and West Side's busy Saturday schedule. Stay tuned.
