Will Harris: MCI Update

Brewster Academy took part in the Maine Central Institute Invitational this past weekend and Virginia signee had a solid outing for Jason Smith's squad. Here HooNation.com takes a quick look at how Jason Smith's squad fared this weekend.

This past weekend saw Brewster Academy competing in the Maine Central Institute Invitational. Brewster came in with a 5-1 record but had a huge task in front of them in their first game on Saturday in the nation's #1 ranked prep school Notre Dame Prep (MA).

Notre Dame Prep features highly rated Paul Harris (Syracuse commit) and one time UVa prospect SG Lazar Hayward (Marquette commit). ND Prep came out on fire and jumped out to an early lead on Smith's squad. Behind the play of Will Harris and Brian Grimes Brewster made a game of it but eventually suffered a 93-79 loss. Harris headed the Brewster charge with 18 points while Grimes added 14. The game was marred by a lot of foul calls and a lot of the excitement was taken away by the closely called game.

After the defeat on Saturday Brewster Academy regrouped on Sunday and played in the consolation game again Winchendon School. Sunday the sun shined brightly on Smith's squad as their shots found the bottom of the net most of the day in a 96-88 win. Once again Virginia signee Will Harris lead the Bobcats with 30 points. His offensive repertoire was on showcase and he helped his squad come away with the victory. Also making a solid contribution were former UVa targets Brian Grimes (LaSalle commit) (12 points) and Xavier Silas (Colorado commit) (10 points).

Brewster's record now stands at 6-2 on the year and they are set to travel and play Worcester Academy tonight. HooNation.com will continue to keep you updated on Will Harris throughout the season.
