Kordell Young, from West Deptford High School, Westville (NJ), has made his college decision. Young has committed to the University of Virginia.
Kordell Young has an impressive list of scholarship offers-- Virginia, Boston College, Rutgers, Northwestern, Illinois, Syracuse, Temple, Pitt, Maryland, Western Michigan, and Kent.
"Virginia felt like home," said Young. "That was what I was looking for. I have been to the campus only once--about a week or so ago."
The coaching staff made a great impression, especially Young's recruiting coach.
"Coach Mike Groh has been recruiting me for a long time. I have a great relationship with him. The recruiting class is strong. I'll fit in with everybody," Young said.
"I do feel I can compete. The depth chart looks good at my position," Young said about the running back position.
Young had a great junior campaign with 1,251 rushing yards on 109 carries. He was named All-State and All-South Jersey. He has impressive numbers in the weight room with 285 bench press and 550 squat.
When asked if he would take any additional college visits, Young replied, "I'm not certain if I will or not. As of right now, I don't think so."
