There is no doubt that Sewell is extremely excited about playing for UVa in the future. If one thing stood out to him the most, it was how comfortable he felt at Virginia.
"I guess it was just that I felt real comfortable there. I've been up there a bunch of times for a bunch of games, and I just felt that I fit in there best. I've gone to a lot of the home games, and they were all a lot of fun."
Although Sewell's commitment was announced just yesterday, he had been thinking about the decision for quite awhile.
So when did Jameel realize that UVa was the right place for him?
"Really it was two or three weeks ago. I sat down and thought about where this program was heading, and realized that they had everything going in the right direction. I knew that it was right for me."
One thing surprising about this announcement is that it gives Virginia another quarterback. UVa has no senior quarterbacks, but returns one junior, two sophomores and two freshmen. Also, the Hoos have another 2005 quarterback commit in Vic Hall, so there will be plenty of competition for playing time.
Unfortunately, Jameel could not say where he would fit into Virginia's plans at quarterback.
"I haven't really talked to the coaches about that yet. We are just going to wait and talk about that later. We'll see how things go next season and then we will discuss it.
"I'm good friends with Vic. We both went to the UVa Camp and had a good time together," added Sewell on his relationship with Vicqual Hall.
Sewell is a three star prospect and is ranked as the 20th best player in Virginia. He has great size for a quarterback (6'3'', 205) and has good speed as well (4.7 forty). Sewell has a great arm and should be a great quarterback for the Cavs in the future.
