Simmons Decides to Stay In-State

Jahvoni Simmons has decided to stay in-state and head to Virginia. The four-star Virginia Beach (Va.) Ocean Lakes middle linebacker made his announcement on Tuesday.

Jahvoni Simmons is now a Cavalier. The four-star Virginia Beach (Va.) Ocean Lakes middle linebacker made his announcement on Tuesday in front of friends and family at Ocean Lakes High School.

Simmons chose UVa over offers from: Wisconsin, Alabama, Miami, and North Carolina State, among others.

"UVa is UVa,” said Simmons previously to Scout.com “They're struggling right now, but I definitely feel at home there. I feel like I can be just as comfortable there as I am at my high school."

Simmons is UVa’s 17th pledge and the second commit today – Washington (D.C.) Wilson linebacker Kareem McDonald committed to UVa earlier.

The 6-foot-2, 230 pound Simmons had 125 tackles, 40 tackles for a loss, five interceptions and five forced fumbles in his junior campaign.
