Robinson Felt a Connection with UVa

Myles Robinson is UVa’s 15th commitment in the 2015 class. The Good Counsel (Olney, Md.) athlete Myles Robinson discusses his decision to commit to Mike London and the Cavaliers.

Myles Robinson had a big choice to make, and on Monday afternoon the Good Counsel (Olney, Md.) athlete followed his gut feeling and decided to be a Wahoo.

“A lot of thinking was involved in the decision,” he explained. “I visited a lot of schools-UVa a while ago when I was a sophomore. I just loved it. And then visiting other schools I just didn’t feel like the connection was there, and I didn’t have that feeling that I had with UVa.”

So after exploring his options and focusing in on Virginia, he knew there was only one answer.

“Just talking to some of the players and to some of the players that have already committed, I realized that it would be a good fit for me. So I pulled the trigger.”

The 2015 standout is a versatile athlete, and when the 5-foot-11, 175 pound Robinson made the call to UVa head coach Mike London, he learned the Cavaliers were ready to explore where he would fit best on the squad.

“I just called not too long ago and we talked about what being a Virginia football player was all about. We talked about how interested they are in me and what position I will be playing for them.

“He said I can come in and I can play any position that I want. He wants me as an athlete right now.

The idea of being a contributor on either side of the ball excited Robinson.

“I see myself playing receiver or corner. I don’t really know yet. I just like the options.”

The newest pledge now is focused on his next role, as a recruiter. Although no names coming to mind right now, he will be studying up to see who else he will recruit to join him in Charlottesville.

“I haven’t thought about it much yet. But I will probably try to get a few Good Counsel players and some players from the WCAC. I am thinking about it. “

Robinson hopes to return to Virginia for the cookout on August 16th. The Good Counsel playmaker chose UVa over offers from West Virginia, Ohio State and Michigan State. Recommended Stories
