CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.- The No. 17 Virginia men's basketball team won their 8th straight game and moved to 11-1 in the ACC after beating Maryland 61-53. HooNation has all the reaction, story and more from Monday night's win in one place.

A block and a hot set of hands lead the way for the no.17 Virginia men's basketball team on Monday night, as the ‘Hoos won their eighth straight game. UVa beat rival Maryland 61-53 to move to

11-1 in the ACC.

Joe Harris ignited the offense in the second half, where he scored 16 of his 19 points. Malcolm Brogdon and Akil Mitchell both added 14 and 13 points respectively in the win.

Mitchell had a MVP like performance, in addition to his season-high 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting, he had six rebounds, three assists, one steal and no turnovers.

The Terps perimeter guys were quite the handful for the Cavaliers, who struggled early defensively against Maryland. However, Harris and the team switched to another gear in the second half and took care of business. Justin Anderson again clutch off the bench. He made a huge defensive stop, when he not only stopped Maryland from scoring with a block, but his block was followed immediately by a Harris triple-which helped the Cavaliers swing the momentum to victory.
