Nicholson Out for Season

Virginia football head coach Mike London announced on Monday that junior cornerback Demetrious Nicholson is done for the season. More on his injury, and the latest on Brent Urban and Maurice Canady's injuries below.

The Virginia defense has suffered in recent weeks without many of its star leaders, and it looks like the defense will not get much reinforcement in the secondary this season.

"Demetrious Nicholson is done for 2013," said Virginia head coach Mike London at his Monday afternoon press conference. "After talking to some specialists - its non surgical, but in his best interest to not play," said London.

Nicholson has not been available for the Cavaliers since prior to the Maryland game, suffering from turf toe.

" Tra' will be in a boot for awhile. The good thing is its non-surgical, but in the long term its best for him to continue to sit."

Nicholson was not the injury, the Cavaliers have been waiting on. Both defensive tackle Brent Urban (high ankle sprain) and cornerback Maurice Canady (medical)

"I hope to have Brent Urban and Maurice Canady back by the Bye Week, of the two, Brent is the closest to returning."

Urban was seen without a boot on Saturday afternoon as the team warmed up to face Clemson.

HooNation will continue to provide updates in both Urban and Canady's progress.
