Anderson Aiming for Consistency

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.-- Virginia sophomore guard Justin Anderson has some high expectation on his shoulders this season. Anderson is ready to deliver and he talks about how he has changed physically and mentally this offseason, as he and the Cavaliers look for consistency on the hardwood.

Virginia sophomore guard Justin Anderson can now jump a higher vertical. It is hard to imagine, but on Wednesday during media day said his vertical has improved by three inches.

Anderson was a freshman phenom last season, and many are looking to him this season to continue where he left off. That is why he took it up on himself to get physically fit -slimming down, working the core, adding muscle and cutting body fat.

Mentally it is just finding consistency.

" Just tightening up the loose screws," he explained. "Coming into games and by being consistent. That isn't just by scoring, thats not just by being a good defensive player; that is by being an all around and sound player. Going into my second year, I have that responsibility not just from my coaches but from my teammates to be able to be consistent, be sound and be able to make the right play. Every single game, I need to be reliable. I think we've all accepted that as our personal goal this year."

Anderson goes more in detail about the tough 2013-2014 Cavalier schedule, his offseason schedule and more below. Recommended Stories
