Decision Watch: Gary Wunderlich

Memphis University School (Memphis, Tenn.) kicker Gary Wunderlich had a busy week visiting a pair of SEC schools. Wunderlich talks to HooNation about his recent visits to Ole Miss and Texas A&M, and how those visits affect Virginia's stock.

Gary Wunderlich, fresh off his visit to a pair of SEC schools this weekend, is close to a decision.

"I have a pretty good idea what I think I am going to do," he said . "I am going to wait a little bit longer, give it a few more days see how I feel. It will still definitely be this month."

Wunderlich has two scholarship offers to his name, Virginia and Texas A&M.

Last week the kicking specialist started his trip with a visit to Ole Miss. The Rebels have not offered Wunderlich, but Wunderlich told HooNation if they did, things would change for him as far as making a decision.

However, the Memphis University School junior did get a chance to see College Station. The 6 foot, 175 pound kicker said he enjoyed his time in the Lone Star State.

"I had a good time," he said. "It is really interesting what they have going down there. It's different. But they are doing a good job."

"I didn't really know anything about the school. Just the students and the campus lifestyle is a lot different than the schools I am used to going to like Ole Miss and Virginia."

With the Aggies' stock rising, where does that leave UVa?

"My opinion on Virginia is still the same, but the trip is making my decision a little bit harder," explained Wunderlich. "Just because what they (Texas A&M) are doing with the football program down there is special. "

Virginia is still in the lead, according to Wunderlich, he says he just has some things to consider about both schools.

"I know a lot of people expect me to go to Virginia. I know they want me to come there. I'm just trying to stay away from all that, and just making sure I am going to do what is best for me." Recommended Stories
