The Demon Deacons made just 15 field goals.
"They erased opportunities by blocking shots. I thought that shook our players," Wake Forest head coach Jeff Bzdelik said. "Consequently, we missed some good looks. We were constantly on our heels."
According to Booker, it was business as usual for the Tigers on the defensive end of the floor.
"Coach just wanted us to get into them on defense, not let them finish at the rim," he said. "We forced them to take more jump shots."
McDaniels scores 14, grabs nine and blocks seven…"He's a great shot blocker and dunker. That's what he does best." - Booker
"That's where he's at his best, certainly, in transition. As I've said from the beginning of the year, we've got to work to get him to become a better half-court basketball player. As things grind in the half-court, he has a hard time creating his own shots and finding shots on offense." - Brownell
"I had my teammates. I'm not going to have a good game every night. But I plan to. Hopefully, that will happen again." - McDaniels
Team defense…"It's the personality of our team. It's the personality I want of our program -- toughness, tough-mindedness, attention to detail, not being happy when teams score. So, we obviously pay a lot of attention to that." - Brownell
"That's just something I've been doing. Challenging more shots, it helps increase our team defense. It rubs off on all of us." - McDaniels
"I thought we did a good job on C.J. Harris, who is a tremendously talented offensive scorer. I thought our guys really locked in on some scouting situations with him." - Brownell
"Our players know that's where our bread is buttered. When we do that, we have a chance to be a good team. When we don't, we're going to struggle. This is a good two wins, because of that." - Brownell
Momentum before the tough test…"That gives us more confidence against a ranked team, especially C.J. Leslie and [Lorenzo] Brown. So I think we'll be able to go up there and give them a good fight." - McDaniels
"We'll have an unbelievable challenge of trying to be good defensively against N.C. State. They have five -- they might have six scorers. Most teams have three. Some teams have four. Very few have five. Those guys have scorers at every position, so it just stresses you so much more. Every mistake is magnified." - Brownell
